Sweet Liar by Jude Deveraux

Sweet Liar is another book of the Taggert series by Jude Deveraux.
This story involves yet another spunky heroine in a formulaic romance.

Samantha Elliots father, in his will, has given the stipulation that she must move to New York in order to search for his mother (her grandmother) who disappeared when Sam was a baby.Samantha arrives in New York to honor her father’s will, which requires her to live there for a year.
Micheal Taggert is the landlord of the brownstone she moves into, her father has assigned to be her guardian and a handsome, outgoing man.Yet Mike could only get so far with her–when he tried to get closer, it was like running into a brick wall. But Mike wouldn’t give up. Michael agrees to help Samantha find her grandmother and she finds herself falling in love with him.

As usual Jude Deveraux has written a smart, funny ,heartwarming  story. Though I enjoyed reading Sweet Liar it at times left me frustrated. Even though the mystery was interesting there were a couple of things in the plot were I felt that it was getting lost. Also a couple of things like how can Sam’s grandfather could  have known that Samantha was his grandchild simply by the newspaper photo of Maxie holding her when she was a baby? What happened to Ornette? Did record producer take an interest in him? And what about Kane? Why did he have to test Sam after his family rejected his late wife when she couldn’t “tell the twins apart”?  well in spite of all these questions i really enjoyed reading Sweet Liar because the romance was great and It contains many lovely characters. And the most I liked it was The family helping each other when Micheal and Samantha needed them the most.
