She also discovers a sickly young cousin, Colin, who has been shut away in a hidden Manor room. Together Mary and Dickon help Colin blossom, and in the process Mary finds her identity and melts the heart of her emotionally distant uncle.

The Secret Garden is nice children’s novel which start as a sad story but slowly becoming better and better till a happy ending. I thought this gonna be a boring story but more I read it more I started like it. Each chapter you read take you into the story and let you be there with characters. This is the only novel I have read which were written by Frances Hodgson Burnett The Secret Garden hardcover book but This book made me read more of her work. This book is a wonderful reading for children and adults and a perfect gift for any age. would be great for any book collection.

This book has been banned by some libraries. mainly because book liberally uses the “N” word and heaps other abuse on African Americans. But I don’t think it has any kind of racism in it. Manly the story just reveal how society worked in those old days. Its all about the friendship between black slave and white boy who has no better society states than the black guy. But I think this might be differ depending on your nationality and ethnics. I just enjoy the story which those 2 face various problems they encounter while they run away.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is filled with humor, adventure, and suspense. Even Ernest Hemingway called it the greatest American novel ever. You can say Mark Twain‘s writing is extremely entertaining. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn which is the second book of this series is no less entertaining The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Probably this is the best-loved nineteenth-century American novel. I’m sure everyone who’d read this novel would agree.

The imaginative and mischievous twelve-year-old boy named Thomas Sawyer lives with his Aunt Polly, his half-brother, Sid, also known as Sidney, and cousin Mary, in the Mississippi River town of St Petersburg, Missouri. After playing hooky from school on Friday and dirtying his clothes in a fight, Tom is made to whitewash the fence as punishment on Saturday. At first, Tom is disappointed by having to forfeit his day off. However, he soon cleverly persuades his friends to trade him small treasures for the privilege of doing his work. He trades these treasures for tickets given out in Sunday school for memorizing Bible verses and uses the tickets to claim a Bible as a prize. He loses much of his glory, however, when, in response to a question to show off his knowledge, he incorrectly answers that the first two Disciples were David and Goliath!
